Brothers and sisters, whom we respectfully refer to as Afande,
Whether you realize it or not, the ship is sinking. The aging tyrant Museveni, whom you serve unreservedly to satisfy his insatiable hunger for power, is in the final throes of his regime—his last kicks as a dying horse.
Museveni, unapologetic and ruthless, has lured many of you into committing human rights violations, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Whether you serve him blindly or simply out of desperation to earn a living, one thing is certain—you will not escape accountability.
Dear Comrades in uniform, as far as justice is concerned, there are already places reserved for you in Luzira, Kitalya, and other infamous prisons—the same prisons where you have unjustly thrown countless innocent Ugandans, simply because your master sees them as a threat to his tyranny.
Moreover, it is no secret that many of you, especially those in the upper ranks of the UPDF and Police, will eventually find yourselves answering for your crimes at the Hague-based International Criminal Court (ICC).
The well-documented atrocities you have committed—at Museveni’s command—both in Uganda and in the neighboring countries he has raided for his bloody economic gains will not go unpunished.
Afandes, many of you have families, don’t you? How would you feel if the same violence you so mercilessly unleash on those whom your ruthless Commander-in-Chief sees as a threat was directed at your mothers, wives, husbands, or children? Please, take a moment to reflect on this!
History—even the recent past—clearly shows that Museveni does not care about you. He uses and discards people as soon as they have served his purpose. This aging dictator is only concerned with himself and his family. Do not be deceived into thinking you are any different.
The time has come for you to reflect deeply on your role and the oath you took—to protect Uganda’s territorial integrity and its people, NOT to safeguard the selfish interests of a single dictator who intends to leave State House only in a coffin.
Brothers and sisters in the security forces, we urge you to put yourselves in the shoes of the innocent Ugandans you kill and maim—simply for exercising their constitutional right to demand democratic change.
We pray that you first liberate yourselves—so that you may, in turn, help liberate Uganda. Together, we can reclaim our country!
