As our country prepares for next year’s general elections— which ruthless tyrant Museveni and his NRM will inevitably rig to maintain their grip on power— the aging tyrant has intensified his persecution of the leading opposition, employing his usual modus operandi of terrorizing those he perceives as threats.
Hundreds of key figures, particularly from the NUP and FDC, along with members of other opposition parties, are currently languishing in Museveni’s infamous torture chambers—operated by CMI, Police, ISO, and other brutal intelligence agencies. These dreadful units serve as his instruments of oppression, ensuring his continued hold on power by suppressing growing political dissent.
Most of those detained have been abducted, subjected to unbearable torture, raped, or even murdered. Their only crime? Daring to demand peaceful and democratic change in Uganda.
This crackdown comes at a critical moment when Despot Museveni is also using his kangaroo courts to politically persecute Dr. Kizza Besigye, the four-time presidential candidate. The ruthless dictator recently orchestrated his abduction in Nairobi on trumped-up charges.
Although it is public knowledge that Museveni is prepared to steal yet another term through violence, Ugandans must unite to bring an end to his brutal regime and lawlessness.
Museveni illegitimately seized power 39 years ago and has never won a free and fair election—proving that removing him democratically is impossible. It is, therefore, time to devise alternative strategies to rid Uganda of this dictator and his NRM cronies.
A luta continua!
