In an unusual turn of events, Maj Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire, one of the senior NRA bigwigs, has strongly criticized power-hungry despot Museveni for his egocentric decision to continue persecuting the senior most Presidential Candidate – Dr Kiiza Besigye through a sham court.
The visibly shocked Gen Otafiire made the remarks yesterday during a memorial lecture held in honor of the late Sam Kalega Njuba, organized by the Uganda Law Society.
“Honestly, keeping a man [Besigye] in jail for eight months, and you say he is guilty, yet you do not tell us what it is, tell us!” Otafiire said.
Using figurative speech clearly directed at criminal Museveni, the senior NRA bigwig stressed: “For as long as we do not know what Besigye has done or not done, for us as laymen in the court of public opinion, he is innocent.”
“Besigye is innocent until you present before us and tell us what he has done. And as for all the others, no citizen should be incarcerated without a fair trial,” Otafiire told off power-hungry criminal despot Museveni.
He added: “I’ve told you this. You may hate me, you may like it; that’s up to you!”
At the heart of the fallout between Besigye and Museveni lies the dictator’s insatiable appetite for money, power and unrelenting ego, which have crippled the nation.
In his desperation to crush dissent, bloodthirsty criminal Museveni has subjected Besigye to cruel and inhumane treatment since his abduction and rendition from Kenya.
It is high time for other decorated NRA historicals (banansiko), whom Museveni has not yet eliminated, to follow Otafiire’s lead and demand justice not only for their comrade Besigye, but all Ugandans rotting in torture dungeons.
Today, Besigye is being persecuted; tomorrow, it could be any of those who once kept Museveni in power.
This calls for a united quest to resolve the Musevenism problem once and for all if the country is to be truly liberated.
