Breaking news reveals a staggering failure at Uganda Airlines, Uganda’s national carrier, as it faces potential seizure of its aircraft due to an unpaid debt. Reports indicate that MixJet Flight Support CEO Munir Khalifa has issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Uganda to settle at least $6 million of the $10 million debt owed for fueling services — or face legal action to seize its planes in Dubai and other destinations.

This crisis is a direct result of Museveni’s regime prioritizing cronyism over competence. Uganda Airlines officials reportedly committed to an initial $2 million payment to appease the contractor, but as of now, the funds have yet to materialize. With Khalifa’s patience running out, Uganda’s flagship carrier is at the mercy of foreign courts and creditors, putting the nation’s assets at risk.

Under Dictator Museveni, Uganda’s public institutions have been hollowed out and mismanaged, drained by the elite while the people pay the price. This is a glaring example of how decades of corruption, misgovernance, and a lack of accountability have left the nation’s assets and reputation on the line.
