A worried and desperate Kagutema Yoseri Tibuhaburwa alias Museveni, clearly losing his grip on the country, has once again bribed each member of the August House with Shs 100 million in cash.
The ageing, greedy power-hungry dictator tries to justify this as a “token of appreciation” for the MPs’ so-called good behaviour. Claiming that Parliament has performed well under Museveni’s skin breaching prostitute is nothing less than mocking all Ugandans, but he should be reminded that we’re not fools at all.
Certainly, Museveni has other motives, and this move will only worsen the misery of Ugandans, who are fed up with his 40-year-long bloody dictatorship. The recipients of Museveni’s dirty cash are primarily MPs from his NRM party, independents, and a few unscrupulous members of the opposition.
This latest act of graft comes at a politically sensitive time, just after the cabinet approved the controversial Coffee Bill and, most notably, the UPDF Amendment Act, which is expected to further entrench Museveni’s junta.
It also comes at a crucial moment as the country prepares for the 2026 general elections. Long-oppressed Ugandans are more determined than ever to move on from Museveni’s dictatorship by voting in a new leader from the opposition.
The panicked Museveni, who once vowed to live in State House in a coffin, is desperately surrounding himself with blindly loyal crooks, including these MPs he has just bribed.
Corruption is the very air that Museveni breathes, and the lifeblood that runs through his veins. It is an open secret that this power-hungry dictator thrives on corruption to maintain his grip on power.
Let’s not forget: Museveni has made it a habit to bribe MPs. In 2017, he disbursed $3.5 million in a desperate attempt to have the presidential age limit removed from the constitution.
This shameless blood-thirsty dictator believes he can manipulate everyone to impose his old, tired, and thuggish rule on poor Ugandans forever.
But the ball remains in the court of all Ugandans to rise up and change the status quo once and for all!
