Power-hungry despot Museveni’s four-decade anarchic rule, has been marked by grave human rights violations and the promotion of terrorism both at home and across the region, is increasingly coming under scrutiny on the international stage.
For instance, in June this year, the U.S. Department of State issued a Level 4 travel advisory, strongly warning people against traveling to Uganda amid Museveni’s escalating campaign of abductions, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and other serious human rights violations.
“We issue Travel Advisories with Levels 1–4. Level 4 means DO NOT TRAVEL.
We assign Level 4 based on local conditions and/or our limited ability to help Americans there. These places are dangerous. Do not go for ANY reason,” the U.S. Department of State said in the advisory.
That advisory places Uganda in the same category as terrorism-affected countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
That came at a critical moment as Washington continues to impose sanctions and visa restrictions on several current and former Ugandan officials from criminal Museveni’s inner circle over human rights abuses and corruption.
Foreign despot Museveni himself, according to impeccable sources, is particularly a persona non grata in the U.S. and other global power countries.
That’s the reason our scarecrow deputy President Maj. Jessica Alupo is the one making international trips representing the disgraced foreign criminal Museveni.
This was the case last year in the U.S., as almost all EAC countries were in Washington for the signing of a peace accord aimed at finding a lasting solution to the impasse in the E.DRC, where criminal M7 is a key actor.
It was equally the case last week as the BRICS Summit was convening in India. On all of those occasions, Museveni was a no-show!
It is noteworthy that the very Western powers that once aided and abetted Museveni’s rise to power are increasingly disillusioned with his rule and its excesses.
