“I will not cling to power.”
“The problem of Africa in general, and Uganda in particular, is not the people, but leaders who want to overstay in power.”
These are just a few of the many well-known pronouncements once made by our power-hungry despot, Yoseri Tibuhaburwa Kagutema alias Museveni, before and after seizing power at gunpoint in 1986.
Yet, forty years down the road, the power-hungry, frail and widely despised dictator proves that his words were nothing more than hollow rhetoric and treacherous propaganda meant to mislead us.
This is why murderous Museveni thinks that all of us Ugandans are fools, gullible and naïve.
This Saturday, June 28, 2025, Criminal Museveni shot himself in the foot by submitting an official expression of interest to run for a seventh presidential term, blatantly disregarding his own pledges about not clinging to power.
This comes despite growing calls from long-oppressed Ugandans demanding his exit from power, demands they’ve never ceased to express at the ballot box, though Museveni has shamelessly stolen every election in broad daylight.
The greedy dictator now seeks a fresh mandate even as Uganda continues to suffer from the deep-rooted crises he created: endemic corruption, soaring unemployment, tribalism, sectarianism, stalled development, widespread poverty, and institutional decay, to name a few.
Since 1986, Museveni has never won a free, fair, or democratic election. His illegitimate grip on power has only been maintained through coercion, militarism, and the systematic erosion of political freedoms.
As Uganda approaches the 2026 general elections, the people remain firm and unshaken in their resolve to end criminal Museveni’s reign of terror, no matter what dirty tricks he deploys to salvage his collapsing regime.
Museveni must go, enough is enough!
