In his 1987, only a few months after seizing power at gunpoint, power-hungry tyrant Museveni summoned dozens of Local Council leaders to State House Entebbe.

Paradoxically, Museveni had nothing to tell the local leaders except a boastful speech full of arrogance, where he was masquerading as the “savior of Uganda”.

There, he went the extra mile in demonizing previous regimes while pledging to foster the rule of law and develop the country.

“There is so much confusion in the politics of Uganda that I really feel so sad for myself, because my interest in going to the bush and trying to solve the problems of Uganda was that I hoped we could really solve these problems,” criminal Museveni boasted while addressing the leaders.

Speaking with arrogance and a false air of authority, the tyrant condemned Uganda’s political landscape and pledged to dismantle politicization, identity politics, tribalism, and nepotism.

Nearly 40 years down the road, it is evident that criminal power-hungry despot Museveni preached water but drank wine all through.

Throughout his reign of terror, he has done exactly what he once pledged to fight. Worse still, he shows no sign of remorse, repentance or willingness to cede power to a true patriot.

It is on record that criminal Museveni is the mastermind of politicization, using it as a special modus operandi to cling to power. He has captured all arms of power through repression, reducing Uganda to a lawless state, a banana republic!

The once-celebrated revolutionary has degenerated into a power-hungry relic, driving Uganda into rapid decline through rampant corruption, embezzlement and mismanagement.

The truth is, Museveni’s brutal junta has no genuine achievements worth celebrating. His sole investment has been enriching himself and his cronies, while deliberately neglecting Uganda’s dilapidated roads, collapsing schools, ill-equipped hospitals, and other critical infrastructure.

Museveni’s true “legacy” lies in institutionalizing corruption, looting, nepotism, tribalism, sectarianism, extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, abductions, illegal arrests, detention, and torture of innocent citizens.

All of this is part of his long-term treacherous plan to maintain his grip on power until his last breath.

Nearly 40 years of Museveni’s reign of terror have been marked by relentless plundering of national resources and systematic attacks on human rights, including brutal abductions, extrajudicial killings, and violent suppression of dissent.

It is high time this unrepentant tyrant stepped down and relinquished power he has shamelessly abused for four decades.
