Power-greedy octogenarian brutal and murderous dictator, Museveni has (mis)ruled Uganda not as a president, but as a warlord.
The 109-year-old who marched into Kampala in 1986 promising a “fundamental change” but he has become worse than all the dictatorial regimes combined. He has looted, killed innocent citizens, and he stayed.

Museveni didn’t reform the constitution. He butchered it. He removed term limits in 2005. He removed the 75-year age limit in 2017 so he could die in State House.
Elections in Uganda are not elections. They are military operations. Soldiers on the streets, internet shut down, opposition candidates beaten bloody on camera, ballot boxes stuffed in barracks. Besigye jailed, tortured, exiled. Bobi Wine’s driver shot dead right next to him. His bodyguard blinded. His supporters abducted in drones and returned as corpses or broken men.
He doesn’t win votes. He counts bodies.

Uganda is not poor. Uganda is robbed.
This is a kleptocracy with a flag. Karamoja iron sheets stolen by ministers. COVID cash stolen while Ugandans died gasping for oxygen. Ghost soldiers, ghost teachers, ghost doctors and medicines. Chinese loans inflated, then pocketed. Oil deals signed in the dark.
Meanwhile, over 75% of the country are young people with degrees riding boda bodas, hustling for 5,000 shillings. And who owns the country? M7 himself, his half-Somali brother and his in-laws.
The first family controls the oil, the land, the tenders while the rest of Ugandans are still begging.

Parliament is a house of beggars clapping for handouts. The judiciary flinches every time State House coughs. The army that was supposed to be national became personal. UPDF means Museveni’s private security firm.
Merit is dead. Loyalty and tribe is everything. That is why hospitals have no drugs but have soldiers guarding them. That is why schools have no books but have his portrait on the wall. That is why roads melt after one rain. He deliberately broke Uganda so it can never stand up to him.

This is the man who once wrote about human rights. Now look at what he built.
Safe houses all over Kampala where young men are hung from ceilings, electrocuted, nails pulled out. Nalufenya. CMI. SFC. Names that make mothers in Uganda shed endless tears.
November 2020: more than 50 unarmed Ugandans gunned down in two days for protesting.
Kasese 2016: over 1000 people massacred. Countless activists disappeared for a Facebook post. Journalists beaten live on air while cameras rolled.
A whole generation has never known another president. They have only known fear, intimidation, brutal abductions in white drones, torture and extrajudicial killings.
Museveni came as a revolutionary. He will go down as an octogenarian tyrant who drank blood to stay in power.
After 40 years, this is not failure. Failure is an accident. This is a crime. And history will remember him not as a liberator, but as the man who killed Uganda and called it peace.
