Things are increasingly falling apart within our power-greedy criminal despot Museveni’s crumbling junta.
This time around, the regime’s own sycophants are at each other’s throats, fighting over the potential succession of the ailing cancer-striken senile 110-years old tyrant, whom they know is no longer capable of running our country, Uganda.
Ugandans were once again taken by surprise after Museveni’s son-in-law, Odrek Rwabwogo, who also doubles as his senior advisor, took to social media to accuse his father-in-law’s regime of repression, despite being one of its most trusted insiders.
In his podcast, Rwabwogo stated that Museveni’s brutal junta instills fear among Ugandans and silences them when they should instead be free to speak out for the betterment and future of the Pearl of Africa.
The power-thirsty Rwabwogo went on to argue that repression against Ugandans undermines the country’s ambition of attaining a US$500 billion GDP by 2040, and he called upon the public, inciting all of us to stand up and challenge the status quo.
Rwabwogo’s remarks came amid the continued political persecution of opposition figures through brutal abductions and being held in incommunicado in state detention dungeons.
Currently, prominent leaders such as Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi, Erias Lukwago, Dr. Kiiza Besigye, and thousands of others are languishing in Museveni’s torture chambers.
The remarks also came at a critical moment, as Museveni continues to suppress freedom of expression and media freedom by shutting down independent media outlets affiliated with NMG, which he has long been accused of being “enemies” of his junta.
It should also be recalled that earlier this year, Kasambya County MP and staunch Museveni supporter Daudi Kabanda accused Rwabwogo of conspiring with foreign powers to oust his father-in-law.
Kabanda claimed that Rwabwogo, who has consistently shown interest in succeeding Museveni, was acting with the backing of one of the surviving outspoken NRM historical figures, Gen Kahinda Otafiire, and was betraying Museveni by engaging with the Americans.
According to Kabanda, Rwabwogo made several trips to the United States, during which the MP said that he met members of Congress and USA ๐บ๐ธ government officials.
“This pattern confirms the current attacks from some members of the Senate on the Ugandan government. We are also aware that he is being supported in this treachery by Otafiire,” Kabanda wrote in part on X.
Persistent infighting and power struggles are precisely how the junta of this unapologetic despot will eventually collapse, sooner rather than later.
Museveni’s downfall is inevitable but before it unfolds, he should be held accountable for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the countless atrocities he has been committed against Ugandans over the past four decades.
